NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

The National Honor Society promotes recognition for students who have outstanding achievement in the areas of scholarship, character, service and leadership. For acceptance into the Lyndhurst Chapter of the National Honor Society, a student must have a 3.3 grade point average and have recommendations from staff members. At least one honors class must be included in the GPA average. Evidence of leadership and participation in extracurricular activities must be shown.

Students are inducted into this prestigious organization in the fall of their junior or senior year at a solemn candlelight ceremony. Parents and friends are invited to share in this special night.

Club activities include:

  • Peer tutoring for high school and elementary students
  • Program distribution at graduation and MacLean Awards Night
  • Guides for Back to School Night
  • Voter Registration project
