The Purpose of the LHS Environment Club is to create an awareness of the vital importance of protecting and preserving our environment. Students can achieve this by participating in various town wide and river clean up. Through our partnerships with the HMDC, the Hackensack Riverkeepers, and the Passaic River Coalition. Students may also be involved with monitoring the ecological state of the Passaic and Hackensack rivers, performing various chemical tests as well as surveying the biotic hydrologic and geologic aspects of these great river systems. Also a variety of local, national and global issues concerning the future will be explored in the hopes of preparing our next generation of environmental stewards.
