Due to inclement weather (excessive heat, hurricanes, snow storms, etc.) or other unforeseen emergencies, all high school parents and students are reminded that school closing or delayed opening announcements are broadcast over the following radio stations:
WCBS 880 AM |
WVNJ 1160 AM |
NJ 101.5 FM |
1010 WINS AM |
NEWS 12 NJ |
1010 WINS AM maintains a website on school cancellations at 1010 WINS under the "school closings" section. You must register to access the school closings information using this method.
WOR 710 AM no longer announces school cancellations on the air. You may log onto the WOR website at: WOR 710 for school cancellation information or dial the WOR School Closing Hotline at: 877-871-9208.
In addition to using the radio stations or internet sites above, you may call (201) 896-2100 to confirm the high school schedule.
The high school does not institute a student telephone chain announcing the closing or delayed opening of the school. Parents should make arrangements for their children in the event of an early dismissal. Also, parents are requested not to call the local police or fire department and unnecessarily tie up emergency telephone lines.
PLEASE NOTE: The delayed opening schedule at the high school requires that all students report to their Period 1 class no later than 10:00 AM with a 2:21 PM dismissal.
During a delayed opening, the 8th Grade Accelerated Program is cancelled.
