Business Computer Application:
(Required – Grade 9 – one-year course) This course introduces the student to various computer components and systems. The microcomputer is the standard information-processing component of our society. Each student will be introduced to the various computer functions needed for daily computer operations. During the course, the students will learn the keyboard using the touch-type system. The programs introduced will be word processing, spread sheeting, presentation graphics, and database. Career opportunities are presented.

WP/Desktop Publishing:
(Elective – Grade 10, 11, 12 – one year course) This course is designed to enable students to productively use Microsoft Word and Microsoft Publisher software. Students will use advanced word features and will expand their document processing, knowledge through the use of desktop publishing. Students will produce letters, reports, and tables and create other documents that include invitations, business cards/forms, stationary, newsletters, brochures, etc. Students who successfully complete the course will be eligible to earn one college credit. If time permits students will also be introduced to web page development using Microsoft Front Page software.

Accounting I:
(Elective – Grade 10, 11, 12 – one year course) The course includes the basic theory, terminology and practice of accounting. The accounting cycle from the elementary accounting equation to the preparation of adjusting and closing entries, working papers and financial statements are introduced. Attention is given to the individually owned business and to the records kept by professionals. Career opportunities are presented.

(Elective – Grade 11, 12 – one year course) This course provides the student with a broadened and improved knowledge of business procedures and the use of accounting records. The control function of accounting is covered through a study of accounting systems. The course is planned for the student who desires to become a general or specialized accounting clerk upon graduation from high school or to major in accounting of business administration in college. (Elective - Grade 10, 11, 12 - one semester course) Spreadsheets are an integral software tool in the business world. This course will provide students with the opportunity to expand upon their introductory knowledge of spreadsheets by exploring advanced spreadsheet development, functionality, and implementation. This course is modeled after the Microsoft Office Specialist Expert Level Certification Exam, the leading global computer industry proficiency assessment in computer application. Those students who successfully complete the course will be prepared to sit for and pass the certification exam. Successful completion of this exam has been recognized by the ACE (American Council on Education) as earning one college credit. Career opportunities are presented.

(Elective - Grade 10, 11, 12 - one-year course) Multimedia and Web Page Design is an exciting course that explores the world of multimedia and Web page design. Students will learn today's top of the line programs including: Dreamweaver MX and Flash MX, as well as fundamental Web tools including HTML, JavaScript, and Internet related concepts. Topics covered include: Creating and maintaining a Web site; Constructing animated graphics; Producing online movies and videos, creating Online Video Games, and other exciting Web based projects. COOPERATIVE BUSINESS EDUCATION:
(Elective - Grade 12 - one-year course) A senior course offering for students who wish to pursue careers in the business office as secretaries, clerks, typists, word processors and in computer operations. Resume writing, job applications and interviewing techniques are covered. All students are given a morning related class and actual paid work experience in the afternoon hours. Work experience starts during the summer after junior year.

COMPUTER ILLUSTRATION AND GRAPHICS:

(Elective - Grade 10, 11, 12 - one year course) In this course students will learn desktop publishing by focusing on the principles of design. Utilizing Adobe PageMaker and Adobe Illustrator, the course will stress the design of desktop publications and computer graphics. It will provide the knowledge and skills needed to utilize desktop publishing programs in order to produce professional quality publications. VIRTUAL FASHION DESIGN:
(Elective - 9, 10, 11, 12 - one-year course) This course is designed to teach the students the art of pattern grading and marking as used in fashion manufacturing. Students will learn the basic techniques and operational development of patterns done manually and through a computer system using Dress Shop Software. Aside from creating patterns, they will study the development of clothing through time, famous designers and how they market their lines, costume design, and presentations of the students' personal line of clothing. PERSPECTIVES OF DRAWING I:
(Elective - 9, 10, 11, 12 - one year course) This class will take students through the essentials of AutoCAD drawing techniques. Students will learn to store, edit and plot to any scale or paper size. They will focus of 2D drawing and editing procedures using lines, arcs, and circles with multiple layers, line types and colors. Using these skills acquired, they will be challenged with exercises that develop problem-solving abilities and given quizzes for evaluation. Students will also be introduced to drafting fundamentals and basic geometric construction. Using a drafting board and drafting tools, they will develop a practice drafting skills and techniques they will develop and practice drafting skills and techniques. PERSPECTIVES OF DRAWING II:
(Elective - 10, 11, 12- one-year course) This class expands on the student's knowledge of AutoCAD. Students will review basic drawing and editing procedure but will also incorporate text and dimensions to drawings. They will use blocks, polylines, and other complex 2D entities. Using these skills they will be challenged with exercises that develop problem-solving abilities and given quizzes for evaluation. Students will also be introduced to drafting fundamentals and basic geometric construction. PERSPECTIVES OF DRAWING III:

(Elective 11, 12 - one-year course) This class moves into the world of 3D applications, including wireframe, surface, and solid modeling. Students will combine commands to form objects. They will complete design problems and present 3D modeling. They will be given exercises and quizzes in preparation for the AutoCAD Certification Exam. Students will also be introduced to drafting fundamentals and basic geometric construction. Using a drafting board and drafting tools they will develop and practice drafting skills and techniques.
